His career spans Bell Labs, Schlumberger, Microsoft, HID, In-Q-Tel, and the cofounding of Mobile-Mind. Dr. Guthery has authored over ten previous books on smart cards, mobile, embedded systems development, and the history of mathematics and technology.
Julie Burke, Ph.D. has served as a USPTO patent examiner, quality manager and whistleblower. She is the founder of IP Quality Pro LLC, a patent consulting firm and serves on the Board of Directors at the Association for American Innovation. Dr. Burke advocates for administrative reform and publishes widely on patent office policy.
Michael Risch, J.D. is a professor of law at Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. His teaching and scholarship focus on IP and internet law, with an emphasis on patents, trade secrets and information access. Risch’s articles have appeared in numerous journals, including the Stanford Law Review, Duke Law Journal, and the Yale Law Journal Online. His work has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court.
